Diesel Engine Training

Fast Lane Automotive Training’s Diesel Engine Repair & Performance training gives students hands-on diesel engine experience with real-world automobiles. Diesel engines, while similar to gasoline mechanically – thus the prerequisite, diesel engines ignite fuel differently using highly compressed air to inject fuel under higher pressures. The high pressure ignites the fuel, doing away with the need for a sparkplug, and delivering efficient performance.

Diesel, however, has a significant downside – it’s dirty. It creates more pollutants than gas engines and that’s caused changes in diesel engine manufacture. In 2007, the EPA required that all trucks have diesel particulate filters and by 2010  emission systems were introduced that lowered nitrogen oxide (NOx) produced by the engine. This increased demand for certified diesel technicians, and we can help you get there!

Our Diesel Engine Repair & Performance training prepares students for certification from the National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (A.S.E.). Fast Lane will assist with job placement through partner agencies and qualified students may receive sponsorship for certification testing!

This Diesel Engine Repair & Performance course is designed to go over all the mechanical aspects of a diesel engine by completing a teardown and rebuild followed by identifying the systems of the engine, including:
